Douglas A. Murvine
September 21, 1944 — May 21, 2024
On Tuesday, May 21, 2024 a beloved brother and friend to many, passed away at the age of 79. He was born to Hershel and Dolores Murvine in Akron Ohio. He was a graduate of Lindbloom High School in Chicago and continued to enjoy close friendships with high school friends, whom were known to him by enduring nicknames which he had given. He is a veteran of the USMC and has maintained friendships with his “buddies” who he has also adorned with nicknames. He was very sentimental and enjoyed telling stories and reminiscing about all of his friends. He was proud of his long-term sobriety and the support from his AA community. He retired as owner of Automotive Design Center in Posen Illinois but continued his love for anything automotive. He was known to many as a “Savant” when it came to his knowledge of cars and could easily recall makes, models and histories. He was able to do the same with music and retro rock’n roll. Many will remember him for his quick wit and sense of humor. He had a love of animals big or small, wild and domestic.
Douglas was preceded in death by his wife, Anna M. Murvine (Wondrasek) and leaves behind an array of family and friends, too many to list all, but those who knew him know how important they were to his life. His sister Daryl Murvine, His brother James Murvine. Nephew and family Allen Murvine. Loving companion Denise Morgan. Step grandchildren Cassidy Holzman and Mary Steinhoff. A special thanks to his friend Ralph Maholovich, who was with him to the end.
