July 27, 1935 – October 30, 2021

Age 86, a longtime resident of Homer Glen, passed away Saturday, October 30th, 2021.

David is survived by his loving family, wife JoAnne Dyer (Voss); children David (Barbara) Dyer, Edward (Jean) Dyer, James (Nina) Dyer, Elizabeth Lohmar; step children Judith (Michael) LeFevre, Kristin Anderson and Kurt (Deborah) Anderson; 17 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; close relatives and friends Lynn and Wayne Alton, Chuck and Cindy Rapson.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Bonnie Jean Dyer (Rapson); parents Wilbur and Alvena (Murr) Dyer; son-in-law Garry Lohmar and grandson Andrew Dyer.

David was the owner of the family business Miller Purcell in New Lenox. He worked as a Health Physicist for Argonne National Lab. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He Graduated from Joliet Township High School, a school board member of Homer School District 33C, a former member of the Exchange Club, Lions Club, Photography Club and Ham Radio. He loved to travel, photography and gardening.

A visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox IL 60451 on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM with funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 PM. Interment will be held privately Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Melanoma Research Foundation or the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
