Betty Lou Gallagher

Betty Lou (nee Breymeyer) Gallagher, age 84, of Manhattan passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at her home. Survived by her loving daughters Nadine (James) Grganto and Kelly (Christer) Borsch, grandchildren John (Tiffany) Dague, Claire Borsch, and Karli Borsch, great granddaughter Allie Dague, siblings Irma Paul, Patricia Doran, Wayne (Barb) Breymeyer and Tom (Cheryl) Breymeyer and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Fred and Rose (nee Heuer) Breymeyer, a son in infancy Vincent Matthew Warren and siblings Fern Thompson and Jerry Breymeyer, Betty was born and raised in Frankfort Illinois. Betty worked as a school bus driver for several years and then was a bartender for over 30 years at Grayce’s Frankfort Tavern. Betty loved her family and enjoyed cooking, gardening, picking asparagus, word puzzles, riding her motorcycle and attending the annual Parke County Covered Bridge Festival. Betty had a fascination with eagles, she loved watching them; May she now be at peace forever soaring with the eagles. A memorial visitation for Betty will take place on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 noon. Per Betty’s wishes, cremation has been respectfully addressed. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by visiting www.stjude.org would be most appreciated.
