Beth T. Majerszky
July 9, 1959 — December 16, 2024

Beth Majerszky, beloved wife of the late Jeno G. Majerszky, passed away on Monday, December 16. She was cherished by her siblings, Andrea Swan, Drew Gavlik (Bonnie), Bruce Gavlik, Deborah Gavlik (Nasrullah) and Timothy Gavlik (Ha), her many nieces and nephews, Jessica, Christopher, Leanna, Jim, Justin, Jocelyn, T.J. and Benjamin, and her brother-in-law George Majerszky. Born in McKeesport, Pa. she graduated from West Mifflin North High School and received a Bachelor of Music degree from West Virginia University. After graduation, she moved to Chicago where she continued her musical studies, sang with the Rockefeller Chapel Choir, and performed major roles with several Chicago-area opera companies. Beth’s pure, clear voice, and passion for music was an important thread throughout her life. She worked for many years at the Federal Reserve Bank and later with Cellular One. After retiring from corporate life, she transitioned to creating businesses focused on women’s personal growth, including Simply Be Coaching and Retreats. For the last 10 years, she was a member of the Glenn Ellyn-Wheaton Chorale and recently served as its President. An animal lover, Beth cared for and pampered numerous cats throughout her adult life. She was an empathetic, compassionate, and joyful friend to everyone she met. Her openness, kindness and free spirit touched many lives.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to honor Beth at the Glen-Ellyn Wheaton Chorale at https://gewchorale.org or the Stratford Festival at https://www.stratfordfestival.ca/SupportUs/MakeAGift
