George J. Hendry
George J. Hendry of Chicago passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at the age of 78. Beloved son of the late George and Nell Hendry. He was the loving husband of Mary (nee Cartan) for 55 years. Amazing father of John (Maria) Hendry, Elizabeth (David) Oufnac and the late George Hendry. Treasured grandfather of Ross and Sadie Hendry and George and Mary Oufnac. Dear brother of Robert Hendry and the late Mary Catherine Paci (Robert) and James Hendry (Earline) and fond brother in-law of Thomas Cartan (Lorrie). Admired uncle of many nieces and nephews. George Hendry and his best friend the late Patrick Coakley were the founders of the South Side Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade (1979). Visitation Monday, July 22 at St. Cajetan Church, 2445 W. 112th Street, Chicago, 60655 from 10:00 am until time of Mass 12:00 pm. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
