Gerald Robert Ridge
November 4, 1935 – August 31, 2022
Gerald Robert Ridge “Bob” of Frankfort Illinois. Passed away peacefully on August 31, 2022, surrounded by his family in love devotion and prayer. Bob is survived by his loving hero of a wife for 59 years Barbara; 4 grateful children: Maureen (Todd) Valliere, Christine Ridge, Robert (Rachel) Ridge and Lauren Ridge Clark along with the apple of his eye 5 grandchildren: Adam, Abigail, Addison, Landon, and Riley. Dear brother-in- law, uncle, friend to many.
Bob a “Good Man”. Such a simple yet beyond strong statement. His temperament was full of kindness, his actions were gentle, his faith was strong & his devotion was to his family. Growing up in Metropolis Illinois, the home of Superman, he found the strength to pursue many business opportunities and retired with the railroad all aboard the Amtrak. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Bob embraced being the listener in the crowd among those gathering in his home, which was an open-door policy: Laughter, games (question game was his favorite), food and drinks flowing and reminiscing of yesterdays to bring a smile to all. His love for the St. Louis Cardinals remained throughout his lifetime- “this is their year”. Bob was a true servant to his family and his wife’s needs throughout his life always putting others first. He will be so dearly missed, and we hope we can gain just a touch of his demeanor into our hearts and lives.
