Kimberly E. Huisman (Moore), age 38, of Manhattan formerly of Crestwood, was taken from this life all too soon on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Advocate Christ Hospital, Oak Lawn.
Kim leaves behind her loving husband of 10 years, Drew Huisman, children Kenzie and Shawn, parents Terrence and Elizabeth (Connolly) Moore, sister Colleen (Scott) Powell, brother Dan (Amanda) Moore, nieces Allyson, Alana, Ruby and Scarlett, nephews William and Henry, maternal grandparents Maryon Connolly and John Connolly, mother-in-law Sharon (Mike Kennedy) Huisman, father-in-law Denis Huisman, grandmother-in-law Doris Kennedy, and sister-in-law Amanda (Dan) DeSimon and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Met in heaven by her maternal great grandmother Patricia Geiss, paternal grandparents James and Rosemary Moore, aunts Mary Galbavy-Jans and Trish Moore, uncle Robert Moore, and two grandparents-in-law Robert & Christine Huisman and Henry & Ruth Gander. Kimberly was a graduate of Illinois State University with her bachelor’s in Business Administration. She was a long-time member of St. Damian Catholic Church of Oak Forest and was employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield for 15 years. Kim enjoyed baking, crafting (especially with Kenzie), getting her nails done, shopping, country music, the beach, and the Tennessee Titans. Above all, Kim loved her family, spending time with them brought her the most joy. She was a loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, and friend. Her absence will be felt deeply by all who knew and loved her. Visitation for Kimberly will be on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 3-8:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan. Funeral service will be on Friday, September 17, 2021 beginning with prayers at 9:30 A.M. at the funeral home followed by procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 235 W. North St., Manhattan, for 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial. In lieu of flowers, memorials to her family for the future education of her children would be most appreciated.
