Patrick John Bell, 38, of Chicago, Illinois and formerly of Dyersville, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024 while surrounded by family at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago.

Patrick was born on March 16, 1986, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Larry and Karen Bell. He grew up in Dyersville, Iowa and was a proud graduate of Beckman Catholic High School where he played football and ran on the track team. He graduated from Northwestern University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. After his sophomore year of college, he began an internship at The Hill Group, a Chicago-based mechanical contracting firm and continued on to have a successful career there as a mechanical engineer. He married Katie Bell (née Kukielka) on August 22, 2015 in Orland Park. They had a wonderful marriage full of fun, laughter, and travel and were blessed with two beautiful children who they were raising together in Chicago.

Patrick was an avid sports fan and his favorite teams were the Northwestern Wildcats, the Dallas Cowboys, the Chicago Cubs, and the Orlando Magic. One of the highlights of his life was having the opportunity to attend Game 7 of the 2016 World Series when the Chicago Cubs defeated the Cleveland Indians. He was a dear friend who touched many peoples’ lives and will be remembered as a happy, easygoing person with a great sense of humor.

Patrick was a beloved husband of Katie Bell (née Kukielka); proud and devoted father of Lucy and Jake Bell; cherished son of Larry and Karen Bell; loving brother of Brian Bell and Colleen (Adam) Humphrey; adored grandson of Betty (late Glynn) Noonan and the late John and Marian Bell; devoted son-in-law of Chester and Carol Kukielka; dear brother-in-law of Vickie, Kristie (Kevin), and Carrie; kind uncle of Christian, Juliet, Sarah, Jack, Joey, Ryan, Kevin, Willian, Teddy, Olivia, and Isabelle; as well as a nephew, cousin, and friend of many.
