On Saturday November 2, 2024, Wayne C Foster Jr passed away peacefully in his sleep listening to the sounds of music and near his beloved bride.
Wayne was born to Wayne Charles Foster Sr. and Virgie Mae Foster (nee McCormack) in St. Louis, Missouri on December 3, 1938. He was the eldest of five siblings.
He had a deep unwavering love of music. He attended Friends University to study music and play his trumpet. He was a talented musician able to play many instruments. Wayne had a lifelong passion for The St. Louis Cardinals National Baseball Team and would not back down when defending them during even their most trying seasons.
He spent many years working for aircraft manufacturers in Kansas and deeply enjoyed the experiences that part of his career brought. He moved his family to the Chicagoland area where they would put roots down. He coached many youth sports teams and encouraged all of his children to participate in many different activities. He also supported the local theatre groups including Playhouse by helping with lights and sound. This creative outlet was shared with Betty over the years.
Wayne retired from Rhone Poulenc in Chicago Heights, IL. His retirement brought a lot of time to spend on hobbies, attend breakfasts with friends, attend the various sporting events of his grandchildren, and travel with his favorite lifelong companion, Betty. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his partner, best friend, and wife of 63 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Foster (nee Crevoiserat); his loving children Wayne Charles Foster III, Bonnie L. (Frank) Keske, Joseph C. (Kristin) Foster, cherished grandchildren Wayne Charles Foster IV, Emma Winston (nee Foster), Jessica Foster, Amanda (Kevin) Keske-Bus, Melissa (Joshua) Ayres (nee Keske), Christopher Keske, Alexander Keske, Bradley (Jennifer) Foster, Kelsie Foster, Ryan Foster; Great-Grandchildren Caleb, Margaret, Davina, Octavian (TJ), Grayson, Ronan, Cordelia, Alasdair, Henry.
He was preceded in death by his Father Wayne Charles Sr., Mother Virgie Mae, his son Christopher Eugene Foster, and grandson Michael Joseph Foster.
He was a dear brother of the late Phylis Loner, Linda (late Richard) Green, James Foster, and the late Robert Foster.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Wayne’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.
The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox, IL on Sunday November 10, 2024, from 3:00pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 7:00pm. Interment will be private.
